Description: The e-wrap stitch is one of the simplest and most commonly used stitches in loom knitting. It creates a loose, twisted stockinette stitch that is stretchy and soft.
How to Make It: Wrap your yarn around each peg in a cursive "e" shape, then knit over by lifting the bottom loop over the top loop and off the peg.
Flat Stitch
Description: The flat stitch produces a tighter, denser fabric than the e-wrap stitch. It's great for projects that require more structure.
How to Make It: Lay the yarn above the existing loop on a peg without wrapping it around. Then, knit over by pulling the bottom loop over the straight yarn and off the peg.
Purl Stitch
Description: The purl stitch on a loom mimics the purl stitch in traditional knitting, creating a bump on the fabric's surface. It's often used in combination with the knit stitch for ribbing or textured patterns.
How to Make It: Bring the working yarn in front of the loop on the peg, use your knitting tool to lift the loop off the peg while catching the working yarn to form a new loop, and place this new loop back onto the peg.
U- Stitch
Description: The U-wrap knit stitch is similar to the flat stitch but creates a slightly looser and more uniform fabric.
How to Make It: Half-wrap the yarn around the peg, forming a "U" shape, then knit over by pulling the bottom loop over the top loop and off the peg.
Knit / Stockinette Stitch
Description: The stockinette stitch creates a smooth, V-patterned fabric on the front, with a bumpy texture on the back, similar to traditional knitting.
How to Make It: You will do the opposite of the purl stitch, place the working yarn above the loop and take your tool and pull the yarn from above the loop to create a new loop. Take it off of the peg and place the new loop onto the peg. Knit stitch complete.
